What is Culture Ireland?

Culture Ireland is the Irish State Agency that promotes the best of Ireland’s arts and culture internationally and assists in the development of Ireland’s international cultural relations. The organisation was established in 2005 by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism and comprises a board of directors appointed by the Minister and an executive staff led by the Chief Executive.

NEW CULTURE IRELAND POSTING OFFERS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BRING IRISH ARTS TO INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE - 30 April 2008

Culture Ireland, the national agency for promoting Irish arts worldwide is due to expand with the recruitment of a Director of Projects and Promotion. This position will allow Culture Ireland to build on its considerable international success of the last three years during which time it supported over 1000 Irish arts events in over 60 countries.

Ireland’s participation at the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale 2008 announced

The architects who will represent Ireland at the 11th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, to be presented by Culture Ireland and the Arts Council, have just been selected by the Commissioners, the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) and co- commissioner Dr. Hugh Campbell, Senior Lecturer in Architecture at UCD.

Culture Ireland Spring Funding

In its spring funding round, Culture Ireland has awarded a total of €800,000 to more than 110 arts projects across Europe, Asia, America, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Read the press release.

Tribeca Film Festival in New York

Culture Ireland congratulates Eileen Walsh, who has received the Best Actress award at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, one of the leading events on the film calendar in the United States. Eileen won for her performance in Eden, the new film adapted by Eugene O'Brien from his award-winning play, directed by Declan Recks and produced by Samson Films. Culture Ireland supported Eileen and the film makers to participate in the Festival.

With the assistance of Culture Ireland, Luachra Productions brought the
