Culture Ireland’s Strategy 2006 – 2010 Approved by Minister for Arts
Culture Ireland's strategy 2006-2010 has been approved by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr. John O'Donoghue. Following its appointment by the Minister in February 2005, one of the first responsibilities of the Board was to produce a strategy for the future of Culture Ireland. In December 2005, a draft Strategy 2006 – 2010 was made available online for consultation. Our approach to consultation was broad, and included an open invitation for responses from the public. At the same time, discussions were held between Board members and a number of organisations representing artists and arts/cultural issues.
This was a very positive and useful process and Culture Ireland greatly appreciates the views and comments submitted which were taken into account in finalising the Strategy 2006 – 2010. The approval of the strategy now enables us to progress implementation of our proposed goals and strategies.
