What is Culture Ireland?
Culture Ireland is the Irish State Agency that promotes the best of Ireland’s arts and culture internationally and assists in the development of Ireland’s international cultural relations. The organisation was established in 2005 by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism and comprises a board of directors appointed by the Minister and an executive staff led by the Chief Executive.

Culture Ireland, the government agency for promoting Irish arts worldwide, today announced its contingent for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008, the largest arts festival in the world. Ireland’s participation at the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale 2008 announced
The architects who will represent Ireland at the 11th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, to be presented by Culture Ireland and the Arts Council, have just been selected by the Commissioners, the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) and co- commissioner Dr. Hugh Campbell, Senior Lecturer in Architecture at UCD.
Luachra Productions Mali film
With the assistance of Culture Ireland, Luachra Productions brought the film they made in Mali back for screening to a local audience in January 2008. The film will be shown in Dublin in July and a free concert of the music from the film featuring Malian musicians Tinariwen, Afel Bocoum and Allkibar and Liam O'Maonlaí, Paddy Keenan and Caoimhín O'Raghallaigh will take place on 23rd July in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar.
