NEW CULTURE IRELAND POSTING OFFERS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BRING IRISH ARTS TO INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE
30 April 2008 Culture Ireland, the national agency for promoting Irish arts worldwide is due to expand with the recruitment of a Director of Projects and Promotion. This position will allow Culture Ireland to build on its considerable international success of the last three years during which time it supported over 1000 Irish arts events in over 60 countries.
Engagement of this new recruit, whose responsibilities will include management and delivery of key arts projects worldwide will enable Culture Ireland to deliver on its ambitious strategic plan to increase Irish participation in key international showcases, festivals and promotional events. This is a key and rare opportunity for an experienced player in the arts sector to shape how Irelands arts are represented worldwide and to develop further the strong international appreciation of Irish arts.

Culture Ireland is the national agency for promoting Irish arts worldwide established by Government in 2005 and operating under the aegis of the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism.
The Director of Projects and Promotion is a new key position in Culture Ireland’s senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering strategic arts projects, showcases and promotional initiatives internationally, and for developing and managing Culture Ireland’s promotional, media and marketing strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in developing Ireland’s global artistic presence. Applications are invited from individuals with a deep knowledge of the arts in Ireland, a track record of creativity and achievement at senior level in the arts sector, and a passionate commitment to promoting international cultural exchange and dialogue.
The salary scale is €64,565 - €75,629 (equivalent to civil service Assistant Principal standard scale). Appointment will be made on the basis of a two year contract.
