'DAMBÉ-The Mali Project'

Opens for an exclusive limited engagement at Light House Cinema, Dublin, Thursday 24th July.

Dublin, July 8th 2008 The feature length music documentary 'Dambé – The Mali Project', which features musicians Liam O'Maonlaí and Paddy Keenan alongside respected African performers, will open for a limited engagement at the new Light House Cinema in Smithfield, Dublin, from Friday July 25th with a special preview screening on Thursday, July 24th.

The special advance screening of the film on July 24th will be followed by a performance from musicians Afel Bocoum & Alkibar, Liam O'Maonlaí and Paddy Keenan. The musicians and filmmakers will also take part in a q&a session after this screening.

The opening night will follow a free concert of the music from the film on 23rd July in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, which sold out rapidly. The concert will feature musicians Tinariwen, Afel Bocoum and Allkibar, Liam O'Maonlaí, Paddy Keenan and Caoimhín O'Raghallaigh. The opening night screening of the film at Light House Cinema will provide an additional opportunity for audiences to experience the extraordinary collaborations of the musicians in question.
